I like to plan my book-shopping before I actually run out of books. I also like to buy books in bulk so that I don’t have to make regular trips to the bookstore and spend way more than I should.
Anyway, all of that said, I’m about to finish Malazan. Like, the tenth book. I’m also reading the novels and all the other companions, but I’m about to finish the big boys and I’m lowkey panicking.
Can you guys recommend anything that could come even remotely close? Please no Sanderson or WoT, though.
I’m looking for mature fantasy books with preferably darker tones and no characters coming back to life unless there’s a REALLY good reason for it (huge pet peeve). I haven’t read a whole lot, but I did read ASOIAF. Bonus points the bigger the books and the longer the series. I like to be submerged into a world for as long as possible.
I’ve been thinking about diving into The Expanse but I’ve never read Science-Fiction before and I’m not sure how much of a leap it would be.
Other than Malazan, I’m currently reading TJ Klune’s entire catalogue right now, if that somehow helps.
