I adore murder mysteries but I have really specific tastes, so bear with me! And then there were none is my favorite of all time, I love how fleshed out the characters are and feel the same way about my second favorite (if we were villains). I enjoyed decagon house murders and the series by seishi yokomizo but I’m looking for a little more life in the characters without losing any of the complexity that those books have. some of my least favorite books are ones where the detective is an offbeat misfit (couldn’t finish thursday murder club and really hated the maid), I’m not entirely sure why that is but I’m just not as interested in the detective’s life, you know?
I’d love any book recommendations that remind you of the 1985 clue movie, give in-depth and clever descriptions of their characters, and have a satisfying/complex ending. I’ve read most of Agatha Christie’s hits, all of the Lucy Foley books (and still trying to decide whether or not I like them), and all of Anthony Horowitz’s books. thank you so much in advance and very excited to hear what you’ve been enjoying 🙂
