Books about a person who supports their mentally ill SO
My girlfriend suffers from a scary and debilitating mental illness. Usually horror movies are made from it. She's recovering and fighting with all her being, and moving forward with her life.
But it gets tough for me sometimes. Really tough. There are plenty of books from the focus of the person suffering from the illness, but very few that make the caretaker the main focus.
Can anyone recommend a book that focuses on the caretaker and overcoming their shared burdens?
Whether it's a non fiction biography or a fantasy book where a support character talks to voices in their head, I'll take anything across the spectrum.
Real or imagined, I could use some stories where the caretaker wins.
