I am currently in high school. In my experience hardly any kids are religious anymore. They're all nihilistic, have almost no knowledge of ethics or philosophical schools of thought. They're mainly driven by pleasure and pain. Lazy. Scroll dopamine machines all day. Because of their feeling of meaninglessness among other mental health issues which are simply deemed normal now, they cope with absurdist humour and over sexualizations of almost everything. About half of the boys in my school, especially the lower grades are effeminate and progressive with their political beliefs. Id say roughly 10% of the kids in my school are LGBTQ+, that is to say anything other than 'girl-likes-boy' and 'boy-likes-girl'. I'm very curious about why this is, or at least the nature behind it. I've read psychology books as well as philosophy books. Based on the description my friend gave me of 'the last man' by Nietchze, that concept seems very in tune with my perception of the students in my school. Thie description is pretty rough but i think you get the idea lol. Just here looking for answers. Thanks.
