A good quality scifi horror. Something similar to the original Alien movie, but a novel. Any tips?

I'd love to read some scifi horror, similar in theme and atmosphere to the first Alien movie. Something mysterious, tense, dark and gripping. Doesn't neccesarily have to be creature feature or action packed, but you get the idea. Got any tips? Thank you very much!
