Science fiction for someone who doesn’t tend to like science fiction, but would like to like science fiction.

I tend to read what I guess is usually called ‘literary fiction’, with a few thrillers on the side. Without mentioning Blake Crouch, or the more obvious older SF which I’ve probably read, can you recommend some science fiction?

It needs to be well-written – jarring sentences turn me off.
