I'm looking for something to listen to on the bus that my library's hoopla/libby has and they don't have discworld. I like scifi-fantasy and prefer something with at least a mild comedic element (the hitchhikers guide was one of my childhood favorites). I'm also not in this to actually learn anything so I don't need anything real deep (but as long as it's easy for my adhd brain to follow at 6am before finishing my coffee I don't care). I don't mind adult content, either sexually explicit or violence / horror (John Dies at the End might be my all-time favorite) but I also don't mind young adult fiction / kid's content as long as it has a decent amount of complexity (think hunger games or avatar the last Airbender. Divergent was way too simplistic though).
I was trying to listen to that Court of Thorns and Roses thing my coworkers are all into but damn that bitch is whiny I'm two chapters in and she's mostly just been complaining about how poor she is while just describing normal shit like having used furniture and not throwing stuff away the second it gets a chip in it. So I need something that doesn't take itself that seriously because it's exhausting. That said if they have some genuine perspective on those issues I don't mind, The Broken Earth was good as hell, and the
I'll take any and all suggestions, like I said my library's digital audiobook selection isn't too great so the more suggestions the more likely they'll have it.
