I’m nearly finished with this book, “Tastes of Paradise- A Social History of Spices, Stimulants, and Intoxicants” by Wolfgang Schivelbusch, and I find myself very interested in the concept of this book. It’s like learning a little history and culture through a very specific lens. Can anyone recommend other “social history” books?
