My friend wants to start reading again but is very sensitive to s*xual assault triggers. Please recommend fun books for her to read!

    She likes:
    – thrillers
    – history
    – romance/romcoms
    – adventure/mystery

It’s allowed to have s*x scene’s and smut, as long as it’s consensual and non-triggering. It would be great if there’s not even a mention of SA at all. 🙂

    Thank you!

    1. Here are some book recommendations that align with your friend’s preferences while avoiding sexual assault triggers:

      Thrillers:
      1. “The Woman in Cabin 10” by Ruth Ware – A suspenseful thriller set on a luxury cruise ship with a strong female protagonist and a mystery that unfolds in a gripping way.

      2. “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” by Alexander McCall Smith – A cozy mystery series set in Botswana. It’s gentle, character-driven, and engaging without dark or triggering content.

      History:
      1. “The Alice Network” by Kate Quinn – A historical novel set in the aftermath of World War II. It’s a tale of courage and resilience, focusing on female friendship and espionage, with no sexual assault content.

      2. “Code Name Verity” by Elizabeth Wein – A historical fiction novel about female spies in World War II. The friendship between the two main characters is at the heart of this powerful and emotional story.

      Romance/Romcoms:
      1. “The Flatshare” by Beth O’Leary – A charming and heartwarming romcom about two people who share an apartment but have never met. It’s light, funny, and full of feel-good moments.

      2. “Red, White & Royal Blue” by Casey McQuiston – A fun, LGBTQ+ romcom about the son of the US president and a British prince. It’s full of humor, love, and great character dynamics.

      Adventure/Mystery:
      1. “The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle” by Stuart Turton – A twisty, mind-bending mystery where the protagonist relives the same day in different bodies to solve a murder. It’s adventurous and cleverly plotted.

      2. ” The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett – A classic novel with a mystery element, full of adventure, discovery, and heartwarming moments. It’s a lighter, more whimsical choice.
