Anyone else have issues getting too invested in a book to be comfortable DNFing but also being bored/disliking the books?

I'm currently reading The King of Infinite Space by Lyndsay Faye and I'm really not feeling it. I like the premise of the book and the experimentation with fonts and text size but I find the story itself so hard to follow and just not that enjoyable but I'm also completely invested in the relationships between characters to the point I don't want to DNF even though reading it feels like a chore. I know logically I should just DNF but I found the audiobook on Libby so I'm just playing it in the background while doing other things to get the parts of the story I enjoy while being able to half ignore the boring parts. I can definitely see where other people would enjoy it but it's just not a book for me I guess.
