Suggest a book with a hateable character who would steal a dead fly from a blind spider
I'm looking for a book featuring a truly despicable character, someone so vile they'd even steal a dead fly from a blind spider. Any recommendations for books with characters you love to hate?

No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai has a main character so awful I almost DNF. A friend said this is her absolute favourite book to hate. Here are some actual quotes from this book to give an idea:
“I never could think of prostitutes as human beings or even as women. They seemed more like imbeciles or lunatics.”
“I have never been able to get interested when women talk about themselves. It may be because women are so inept at telling a story (that is, because they place the emphasis in the wrong places), or for some other reason. In any case, I have always turned them a deaf ear.”
He’s a genuinely awful person the whole book, but if your goal is to get pissed at a character, he is very easy to hate.

Under the dome by Stephen King. There is one character I absolutely detested and had to actively take breaks after reading their POV/scenes with them.
