I'm on the hunt for a slow burn, true enemies to lovers, filled with yearning set in a historical military fantasy setting. Every "enemies to lovers" book I pick up is more rivals/dislike to enemies and the couple ends up falling for each other or confessing by the end of book 1. Where is the desperately yearning and the burning hatred?? Also most of them feel more like romantasy than fantasy with romance or they feel more YA then Adult.
Here some books that I really enjoyed. Not all of them necessarily fit the criteria I've outlined (some don't even have any romance), but just to give an idea of my reading taste and general vibe:
