I’m a third of my way into this book and I’m so, so close to writing it off as a dnf. I’m a religious finisher and this one is just dragging me through every page.
Cass is downright painful. So are Imelda’s punctuationless rambles. PJ seems decent enough but the narrative is lacking in his sections so far. I’m yet to find a hook at 1/3rd in.
Does it get any better? Please send help 😭 I generally like Irish authors and stories but this is just not ticking any boxes for me yet.
