    – by Bill Bryson

I loved the book and how approachable it was for a non-scientist. Anyone with at least a high school level knowledge of science can appreciate it fully, although large parts of it are accessible to most people even below that.

It did take me quite a while to finish, though. It’s a door stopper of a book and every paragraph dropped something interesting that made me stop and wonder. I like how it’s written in a slightly funny, and sometimes exasperated tone, especially when describing all the petty antics some of the most famous scientists got up to.

I’m gonna recharge with some light fiction. This has been the best year in reading for me by a large margin. Not only did I read most number of books, I also branched out in multiple genres.

    1. Bill Bryson books are always a treat.

I remember being amazed by “One Summer: America, 1927”. I had no idea how much was going on during one of the last years before America changed so completely.

    2. You could also recharge by reading more Bill Bryson! In A Sunburned Country and A Walk In The Woods are largely light travelogues.

When you’re ready for more like ASONE, At Home is amazing. He’s one of my favorite authors.
