Hi, I hope I can explain what I'm looking for right. I'd like to try a book where it's set post some apocalyptic event but there's been enough time that there is some sort of functioning society. Like, obviously things aren't completely fixed, maybe there's still bandits or zombies or whatever but there's some semblance of a "normal" life and it isn't like a hellscape. This might be referred to as "soft apocalypse" genre?
I'd appreciate anything that doesnt focus on sexual violence or exploitation.

Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde maybe (and it’s sequel). The society there is a fair while out from the ‘something that happened’ which destroyed the previous society. The new society is bureaucracy mad and your place in it is pretty much entirely based on what colour vision you have. It’s funny and silly for the most part but you start to realise that the rules are in place to stop people finding out the truth. The writing is fun and absurd so they’re not the most serious of possible books in this genre but a both are great reads. Anything by Jasper Fforde is worth reading in my opinion
