I’m currently in the middle of “Evicted”(Matthew Desmond) and can’t put it down. I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed “Warmth of Other Suns”(Isabel Wilkerson) and “Heartbeat of Wounded Knee”(David Treuer).
The personal narratives in these books really expose nuances and messy details true to real life experiences that I think the authors really want to make clear. While they make certain realities very clear, this style also makes the book super digestible, interesting, and engaging.
What are y’all’s thoughts on this style? Also, any recommendations for similar books?
