Books where the villain is evil for the sake of being evil

Recently I have noticed a trend (ok so only two things so far lol) where the bad guy has a reason for why they’re evil and with women it always seems to be “I’M A MOM I JUST WANT MY BABY!!” (I’m looking at you *Resident Evil:Village* and *The Village Healer’s Book of Spells*) I want a bad guy who is evil because they want to be evil. Or at the very least a better motive.
