Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for books that were easy to read (my literacy is fine it’s more my attention span with having adhd) but also fast paced and engaging to keep me interested.
On the odd occasion a book has held my interest I’ve absolutely loved it but I will admit that my entire life (f,34) I’ve only read a handful of books because I just can’t focus on them.
The last few books I’ve “read” were audiobooks whilst I do household chores (I can’t sit still and listen I have to be doing something else!) but I’d really like to read an actual book and try to get into it. The three audiobooks I’ve read were all auto/biographies- Britney Spears, Matthew Perry & Kurt Cobain (I did read heavier than heaven in high school as an actual book as well)
I recently started reading The Walking Dead comics which kept my interest due to the comic book style of being fast paced and something always happening but easy to read and was wondering if there were any actual books I could try to read.
I like sci fi and fantasy but don’t seem to enjoy reading them as books much. I like a few YA books I read in high school (twilight lol but at the time I did enjoy them!) my sisters keeper, the lovely bones are other books I’ve read in my life and a child called it when I was younger as well.
I’ve tried more recently reading station eleven and I enjoyed it at first after a few tries over the years to read it then lost interest a couple of chapters in when it got more focused on the Shakespeare group rather than the pandemic.
I tried reading a court of thorns and roses recently a few times and never finished the first chapter or so.
My general interests and hobbies-
Gaming, yoga, sci fi, fantasy, playing D&D, true crime, podcasts
Thank you
