I have recently read this book but I had so much trouble trying to keep up. Especially in relation to Ester’s mental health status (whether she is improving or not).
As I understand, in the final chapter she passes the final test and has returned to society.
But is she really better? It seems that there was some improvement as she shows some willingness to live (I am I am I am line). And she also indicates that the bell jar did disappear at least for now. But I didn’t notice much improvement because her thoughts are still in disarray and she isn’t that different as in the beginning.
If she really is better what was the incident that moved her from her depression?
