I recently read a Clive Cussler book. I loved the adventure story. I want to find a similar storyline, one with aspects like mystery, Sunken ships, world travel, etc….
BUT, Cussler's work (In my mind) has not aged well. I found the main character to be a racist sexist D-Bag (Who hits women).. Also the way women are described was just so gross.
So, do you know of any books with similar types of adventures, But without the gross descriptions of women and a racist main character

This one’s a nonfiction but Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson
Maybe Sphere by Michael Crichton, but it has a more sci-fi aspect as well
Work by Jules Verne
Interested to see what kinds of adventure recs you get, as this is something I enjoy reading also.
