I adore reading. I live and breathe books.
But in the last few years, l've noticed so many new books crop up that, to put it kindly, are abysmally written in so many ways.
I'm talking poor prose, incorrect grammar, unconvincing dialogue, and lazy characters. The amount of stories aimed at adults with adult themed plots, but are written in a teenager’s style of writing is shocking. And don’t even get me started on books where nothing happens in the first 3/4 chapters at least. How am I supposed to want to read on when no stakes have been presented to me? How am I supposed to bond with the character if all I know about them is that they hate their job?
Gosh it’s all getting so taxing.
I'm really bumming me out. I feel like anyone and anything can be an author these days and it's really affecting the quality.
I just want to read new, interesting and well written novels. I have DNF the last many 15 books l've tried – all with good reviews.
I’m baffled. I'm so fed up with have a go lazy writers and I really, really miss reading.
