Some that came to mind are A Wrinkle in Time, Anne of the Green Gables, Things Fall Apart, and The Good Earth. If you count the Howl's Moving Castle book as a classic, then that too. I only found this out after doing a little digging on Wikipedia . Truth be told, I've only read the original books, not their sequels. And of course, I'm talking about sequels written by the original author themselves.
Just a friendly discussion. I kind of expected that the sequels may not always achieve the same acclaim, popularity, and quality as the original. What other literary classics have sequels? What's the quality and opinion of those sequels? After reading these books and marveling at their status in the literary pantheon, were you compelled to read these sequels?
