I just finished “How to Be Eaten” by Marie Adelmann and I enjoyed it a lot, the kind of compelling easy read I needed to get me out of my book slump I’ve been in. The “dark feminine rage” linked it in my mind to “Her Body and Other Parties” by Carmen Maria Machado, and I think I want to continue on that theme. Any suggestions for my next quick(ish)-read?

“The Bloody Chamber” by Angela Carter is a short-story collection that feels to me like a cousin of “Her Body and Other Parties.”
Comfort Me With Apples by Catherynn M. Valente, a novella I found through this subreddit. It has a similar vibe to Her Body and Other Parties with the feminine rage and things being uncanny and wrong.
Not easy reads, but worthwhile
