We just finished The A Court of blah blah series (my husband loves me to endure this hahaha! He's not even embarassed to tell his friends🩵). We enjoy books in the fantasy/adventure/some romance realm with Tolkien style world building. We also enjoy dystopian novels like Hunger Games and 1984. We aren't opposed to easy and fast, yet thought provoking reads like The Giver.
We were thinking maybe Count of Monte Cristo but it is a huge book! Also possible Stephen King 11/22/63 but I hate scary stuff (I get vivid nightmares which leads to waking up in full panic).
We enjoy discussing the plot twists… or the ridiculousness of the characters.
Also: he audio books and I read good old fashioned paper, so a good audio version available on Hoopla is a must.
