Hello! I would like some suggestions.

I like Pride and prejudice, I love the movie Interstellar and other science movies that leave you thinking.

I also like.movies like You've Got mail and other romantic comedies, but they need to be slow burn, and low spice or spice free.

I'm open to other low spice suggestions too.

I'm just getting more into reading and would love to know where to start.

I WANT to love books by John Grisham and David Baldacci because they are supposed to be best sellers and there are tons of them, but they are detective books or too scary. I'm not into horror. But I would love to find a series.

    1. Check out A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold. It’s science fiction and romance (it’s an homage to Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Georgette Heyer, and Dorothy L. Sayers), with humor and political intrigue mixed in. It’s part of a series but Bujold excels at bringing new readers up to speed in each book so you won’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. That said, if you like A Civil Campaign I think you’ll want to read the rest of the series as well.

If you like Pride and Prejudice, then you’ll probably like Georgette Heyer. Some of my favorites are False Colours, Faro’s Daughter, The Quiet Gentleman, and April Lady.

There’s a whole genre of mystery called Cozy Mystery and it’s got murder and intrigue but without the scary bits. It’s really just small town folks and grannies solving crimes while running their local bookstores or coffee shops or whatever. So you get the fun part of trying to solve the mystery but generally with no or little stress about horrible things happening to our protagonist. Crime without drama.

Or is it the other way around, where you want the drama without the crime?
