Bookish friends, I am asking for your help and a really good book rec!
I feel that I’m in a bit of a reading slump and nothing is holding my attention! I’m looking for something to grab and keep my attention from start to finish! I’m craving a truly captivating story but I really don’t know what kind of genre it might be in!
Listing some books I’ve read and LOVED to maybe give a broad idea! I’m kind of all over the place!! 😝 I read pretty much all genres but smutty romance and very little sci-fi.🫤😅 if we have any favs in common I’d love to hear of a book you absolutely devoured!!! TIA!!!😘
American Dirt-Jeannine Cummins
The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell-Robert Dugoni
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo-Taylor Jenkins Reid
Fourth Wing-Rebecca Yarros
The Art Of Racing In The Rain-Garth Stein
Saving CeeCee Honeycutt-Beth Hoffman
The Women-Kristin Hannah
The Kitchen House- Kathleen Grissom
Reading is my happy place so I’m just looking for my next read! 😘

Demon copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver!
The Last Word by Taylor Adams! I was so sucked in with this book that I didn’t notice my husband setting off the fire alarm until it was blaring 😂😂 I was on edge the entire read!
Leviathan Wakes.
Yellowface by R.F.Kuang was the last book I read that I could safely describe as ‘unputdownable’.
Paladin’s Grace by T Kingfisher
I’m currently in the middle of a book that kept me up past my bedtime yesterday, hahaha. It’s a romance but not cliche or over the top, the characters seem like actual people. It’s called *You Again,* by Kate Goldbeck
Also currently re-reading *Shades of Grey*, by Jasper Fforde – that or the Thursday Next series are both so friggin bonkers that they will draw you in. Speculative fiction with a lot of absurdist humor but also some sly satire.
You might also like the slightly more straightforward, but even more bonkers, Chronicles of St. Mary’s series- first book is *Just One Damned Thing After Another*, by Jodi Taylor. they are time travel and soapy in the best way, with tons of really detailed and interesting historical facts
For a sweet, funny, silly historical romance that’s still fun and fast paced, *The Parasol Protectorate* by Gail Carriger is an absolute riot.
For a more tart historical romance with a side of societal critique, Olivia Atwater’s series that starts with *Half a Soul* was really fun.
If you want a melodrama or more bittersweet romance, *This Time Last Night* by Mhairi McFarlane is absolutely gripping, moving, funny, and interesting.
and, it’s long but *St Death’s Daughter*, by CSE Cooney, was both horrifying and so compelling I couldn’t look away, and also had some really sweet moments and interesting character development? there’s a lot going on!
