In about a week, I'm going to be flying for about 10 hours. Now, I hate flying. A lot. So I need a distracting book for the inevitable discomfort and possible turbulence. Something good-natured, without any claustrophobic parts, or plane crashes, etc. I'm looking for a good one-time only read to hold my attention, that I then hand off to my friends at my destination. I'd like something in the medium-long range, or 2 books in the short-medium range, not too complex, as I will be uncomfortable and tired. Any category. My most recent enjoyed books have been sci-fi, nonfiction about obscure historical topics, and murder mysteries. What do you recommend?

The hundred year old man who climbed out of the window and disappeared
Murder on the orient express – Agatha Christie, pretty fun stuff. I read it traveling internationally and left it behind in my holiday rental.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is fun. I think it’s a bit over 200 pages long so probably one of your medium books to check out if it looks interesting.
Shadow Divers by Robert Kurson will keep your attention!
“Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson”
It’s a darkly satirical murder mystery
“The Psychology of Time Travel by Kate Mascarenhas”
A mystery wrapped up in time travel
