One of my favorite movies is 'Interstellar' and one of my favorite video games is 'Portal 2'

Both of these are known for having these grandiose moments where you are left to stare at a massive structure (The waves on Miller's Planet, The Gargantuan "Backrooms" of Aperture Laboratories) and I think about both of these moments constantly, The size of Interstellar's Waves accompanied with the soundtrack give me goosebumps and the fact that Aperture is so big that their warehouse is seemingly bottomless has always fascinated me!

So, since I already had this moment with a movie and a video game, I was wondering if there was a moment from a book that captured the same/similar feeling for any of you? The scale of the scene doesn't have to be massive (but it definitely wouldn't hurt!), just something that makes you kinda stand back and think about it for a bit.

I hope I did a good enough job describing what i'm looking for, and I'm willing to read anything that could have a scene like this so any genre goes, Thanks!
