Hey guys, basically the title post. A lot of fantasy/sci fi books are just too complicated. Don't feel that feeling of being hooked. I want some recs that make me hooked into the genre again and for beginners.
Also I want books that are not the basic Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, I want more mature and complex stories, just written in a way that is accessible.

Any Octavia E Butler book is great for entry level Sci-Fi reads. My favorite is Parable of the Sower.
fahrenheit 451 is also great. The first chapter can be challenging to get through but stick with it because it’s a slow burn and gets really good towards the middle and excellent at the end.
Maybe try the James Rollins Sigma Force series. It’s got sci fi elements but reads like an action movie. Or maybe the Wayward Pines trilogy by Blake Couch.
