Preferably translated fiction / foreign literature written by women?
Subgenre wise, either romantic or introspective, the only things I’m not particularly interested in reading about are cowboys and military.
* by lesser known I mean they’re not as widely spoken about within casual reading communities.
I’m in the mood for some engaging literature I can read in one sitting 🙂
Thank you!

A good one to start with is *The Gateless Barrier* by Lucas Malet
Tales of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu
Bounjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan might be more well-known.
***Like Water for Chocolate*** by Mexican novelist Laura Esquivel
Silas Marner – Eliot?
