Like the title says, my boyfriend has started reading with me. We just finished Stardust by Neil Gaiman and he loved it (me too, of course)! It was right up his alley in terms of the strong fantasy tone and prose Neil Gaiman writes with.
Some of his favourite video games are:
– From Software Games (Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and he’s going through the Elden Ring DLC right now)
– Bioshock
– Legend of Zelda
Movies he’s enjoyed:
– Lord of the Rings series
– Watchmen
– Silence of the Lambs
– Quentin Tarantino movies (Django Unchained, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction)
– Big Fish
We’ve already discussed to read Project Hail Mary next (Ryan Gosling is starring in the movie and we love him) and the Chronicles of Narnia.
I think he would love fantasy and thriller genres based on his favourite movies and video games. However, I’m not familiar with this genre at all. Apart from the obvious (other Gaiman works, the Lord of the Rings books), what else should we put in our list? He’s a new ready so something easily digestible and short is a must.
