My dad (68m) is going solo on a cruise trip to Alaska next week after his brother and sister
-in-law (my uncle and aunt) had to cancel due to a medical concern.
My dad, who tried his best to cancel, unfortunately was denied a refund so he decided to go on the trip so he wouldn’t lose ~$2,500.
I’m so worried for him to reluctantly travel by himself, so I’d like to give him a little care package ahead of his trip with a few books to read. Does anyone have any books that you’d recommend?
He loves adventure, mysteries, space, ancient architecture, and westerns.
He also does NYT crossword puzzles so I’m wondering if there’s a good crossword puzzle book that I could include?
Thank you all so much!
TLDR: book rec for my dad who has to go on a cruise to Alaska alone after everyone else cancelled
