Hi, I am a woman who just got her drivers license. I bought my first car and it’s old and cheap because that is what I could afford. Are there books like “cars for dummies” or something that would teach me the basics of taking car of cars and fixing minor issues?

Sime auto parts stores carry maintenance manuals. Usually one will cover a range of years of a car model. I think in-person instruction would overall be more helpful for an overview than a book, but I’m also a hands-on learner. There should be a sticker on the inside of the door that tells you how much air to put in each tire, and the owner’s manual should tell you what type of oil. Would definitely recommend keeping a tire inflator that can plug into the cigarette lighter in the car).

(Feel free to ask me questions about car maintenance; sorry I don’t have a book to recommend.)
