I recently got back into reading for the first time since childhood so I'm not a very experienced reader yet. I've mostly been reading classic sci fi (Clarke, Asimov etc.) since I find that interesting. One thing I've noticed is that I really enjoy reading about two people getting to know each other and forming a friendship. So what are some books where forming a platonic bond is an important part of the story? Don't really care about the genre, I'm open to trying anything this early stage in my reading career. Even if you think something is an obvious classic everyone already knows about.
