I’m really tired of being suggested books with such interesting titles but are based on being an outcast in high school or a love triangle between teenagers. I want a different story line other than the main character being an insecure underdog that has a mean girl enemy that ends up being best friends. I know these books comfort others and still have purpose but they are way too surface level for me. I don’t like to read dozens of books because I like to reflect and think about them. I don’t care for happy endings. i don’t care for romance either. I love symbolism and looking for deeper meanings.
I want something DEEP. Something that is life changing, but not set in different worlds where I have to remember such complicated names.
