The terrible writing set my teeth on edge, so I had to give it up. He uses the phrase "after all" no less than 100 times in 400 pages. The characters are so flat and unoriginal they make me feel like I'm in a party in a bad JRPG. And there are so many "yes I should, no you shouldn't/no I shouldn't, yes you should" moments, and the characters are so agreeable in any situation, that any semblance of realism or plot is gone. People simply don't behave this way. Not to mention the 4th-grade reading level.
Don't bother with this series.
