Hi all,
I’m looking for a book about Peter Pan syndrome. Either non fiction or fiction works. As long as the theme is about someone who refuses to grow up and wants to live like a child forever and how it affects their relationships and life in general.
Thanks

This might be too on the nose, but I just read *Sisters of the Neversea*, a retelling of Peter Pan by an indigenous author. It definitely shows how Peter’s unwillingness to grow up negatively affects others.
Rabbit, Run by John Updike, potentially? I’m not sure the term existed at the time (it may have) but to me it read like that was at the heart of Rabbit’s problems. Beautifully written but not a happy book.
*Le Grand Meaulnes*, also called *The Wanderer* by Alain-Fournier, is the best fictional work I’ve ever read and definitely speaks to this.
Maybe a far-reach but one of my favorites is Alex Garland’s “The Beach”, you could definitely say the main character while still young refuses any form of taking up responsibility and adulthood, affecting others. It’s not the main theme of the book though but a fantastic read I highly recommend…
