Not a book that's a little sad, but a book that will have me bawling my eyes out, tear my heart into pieces and leave me staring at walls because I feel so empty. The more it hurts the better! Any genre will do, as long as the book has the ability to destroy me. Thanks!

The Book Thief killed me when I was younger, idk how well it holds up for older readers but it made me cry so hard while camping that the neighbors came out to check on me lol
Anything by Tiffany McDaniel. I started with *Betty* and for the last three years, I’ve read each of her other books. I need a year between to recover. I’ve never cried like that before reading anything and I typically don’t cry while reading.
Flowers for Algernon. Absolutely the saddest ending to any book I’ve ever read.
Where the red fern grows
I cried reading “Hello, Beautiful.” I also cry every time I read “In the Time of the Butterflies” or any book by Kristin Hannah.
