My sister and her husband recently put up with me for a couple of days. I know what to get my sister, but had to ask her what her husband might like. She said, "He likes comedy. Terry pratchett, Amelia peabody stories. Mrs pollifax stories."
Now, I don't know what he's got and what he hasn't got from those series, so I thought getting him something in a similar vein from a different series might be the way to go. I'm very familiar with Pratchett, but not the other two – are there any stories that hit the vibe of all three?

The Stranger Times by C.K. McDonald was hysterical (I listened to it though) and a fun series with four books.
I love the Amelia Peabody series!
You can’t go wrong with Douglas Adams, although he has probably read Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. (Adams wrote a brilliant and funny non-fiction book about endangered species called Last Chance to See that I highly recommend as well.)

I’ve seen *The Eyre Affair* by Jasper Fforde recommended for people who like Pratchett, but I haven’t read it yet.
The Witchstone, by Henry Neff. It’s entertaining without being too juvenile, has plenty of plot and action. It’s very Pratchett-esque. It’s also quite new (published in the last month or two) so he’s unlikely to have read it yet.
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (the very badly named trilogy, it ended at 5 books)
Similar to Pratchett’s work but in my opinion funnier. I first read the books nearly 40 years ago but still cry laughing reading them today.
Christopher Moore is very funny. I wonder if he’d like the No. 1 Detective Agency series? Or maybe Jennifer Crusie’s and Bob Mayer’s Liz Danger series (three books, complete arc). Funny, socially aware, romance and mystery. If he likes diner foods, I double down on this rec.
I love all those series. Try Bill Bryson. Non-fiction but interesting and amusing. My favorites are The Thunderbolt Kid, A Walk in the Woods, and In a Sunburned Country.
Since he likes Terry Pratchett, I’d recommend Small Miracles by Olivia Atwater
For Amelia Peabody, I’d recommend Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor
And because he likes humor and Mrs. Pollifax, I’d recommend The Quiche of Death by MC Beaton
