Morning folks, in looking for anything covering the topics in the title or adjacent.
Eternity is my favorite plot device across all mediums, most have been horror and tragedy.
A movie example would be ‘The Endless’, where people are trapped in time loops some as long as several years and others a second, they try to pull the protagonists in to ease their boredom.
Game example could be Signalis where a psychic is stuck in a cryonic state and inadvertendly dooms a mining colony to a hell scape in an attempt to have their lover realized what’s happened to them. Endless looping causes degradation of the dream.
Thanks folks!

All you need is kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Video game inspired time loop novel about a soldier in a war with aliens who’s forced into a time loop that restarts every time he dies and he hates it. The entire thing is his continuous and endless attempts to break free from it. Sometimes it’s published as Edge of Tomorrow but functionally has barely any similarities to the film.
If you’re Familiar with Haruhi Suzumiya then there’s a series of novels that was the source material for the anime and the novel “The Rampage of Haruhi Suzumiya” has a time loop story in the story called “The Endless 8”. (The entire book is short stories.)
If you’re open for a video game suggestion, Returnal was a game I liked a lot (but may be harder to get your hands on the equipment to play).
Also, this one’s a spoiler so don’t click if you aren’t certain: >!A Maze of Death
by Philip K. Dick!<
Edited to be more coherent.
*I Have no Mouth and Must Scream* by Harlan Ellison is the obvious choice
*Peace* by Gene Wolfe is a subtle take on this
Also, *Waiting for Godot* by Samuel Beckett
