My husband and I are about to celebrate our first anniversary. He studied literature in London at UCL and has written a novel himself. For the last four years, he's been dealing with long covid and the implications that's had on his life, as he used to be an ultra marathon runner and now lives a very limited life compared to before… He is quite depressed and has lost a lot of inspiration generally.
I would love to find a novel to give him for that will remind him why he loves reading and writing so much, and that really grips him. Since he studied literature, he's quite well read… Anyway. I would be immensely grateful for your recommendations of books that have moved the needle for you in some way in your life that you think might fit the bill here. It can be a novel, book of poetry… anything that maybe isn't super obvious.
Thanks in advance!
