I am currently reading “The Baseball 100” a quasi-history of baseball book by Joe Posnanski. The structure of the book is that each chapter is a short discussion of an individual historical player. So it’s basically a collection of short (~5-15 pages) histories.
I am interested in hearing suggestions of similar books, but not necessarily about sports. A book where each chapter discusses a military general. A philosopher. A scientific breakthrough. Whatever it is, just something where each chapter is a short, digestible, self-contained thing, regardless of the subject.
