I know for example: Japanese books (both hardcover and paperback) have what they refer to as Obi (like putting a band) around the dust jacket which you can re-attach (it has various uses – either for advertisements, sponsors, bestseller #1, etc.) rather than putting an adhesive sticker on the book leaving residue, while it still serves its purpose for advertising while having a cleaner look.
I mean, why don't English books have this like all the time? As it is standard in Japan, since having something like "now a major motion picture" sticker is intrusive to the main cover, so they use Obi to write more text about the book, or even place "now a major motion picture" or the equivalent of "New York times bestseller" on it without printing stuff like that directly on the book cover.
If English books had them, that means there'll be more to write on the band, you can even hint mentions of the sequel (if the book in question is within a series) or book to movie adaptations, you can just mention netflix via 'obi' instead of placing a sticker on it (which I do not like) as it's annoying to take off (if possible) but sucks if it's printed onto the cover.
