I’m looking for a book series similar to Harry Potter or LOTR but more sci fi or darker tone.

I’m interested in something very Lore-heavy with a dark atmosphere, similar to the Dark Souls game franchise, but also interested in more of a sci fi setting. I say like Harry Potter/LOTR because those are lore-heavy worlds, following a consistent protagonist in their journey against an ultimate adversary.

I also wouldn’t be opposed to other dark fantasy worlds like what we see in Netflix’s Castlevania
