Not big in fantasy or science fiction. I'm about to finish Larry McMurtry's ~2500 page Lonesome Dove series and, while clearly not all planned out from scratch, the books are unpretentious, have great momentum, and an enormous amount of story, if that makes sense.
Maybe I'm just bummed to be stemming beyond it after so much joy along the way, cuz I can't quite articulate what I want. I know I'll finally be bringing down War & Peace after this, but…ahdunno, these 4 books brought me back that Harry Potter experience from elementary school.
