I'm not really a reader, but I want to get into it. I haven't read anything in a long time, so I'm not positive on what I'll like. However, I believe I would like something close to Game of Thrones. I love the gruesome fight scenes specifically. (Can't currently read this series until I finish watching season 2 of HOTD)
Is there anything with very detailed fighting or gore? Like when Khal Drogo ripped out that dudes throat.
I just got a Kobo ereader and have no idea where to start!
To add, it doesn't have to be gruesome or fighting at all considering I don't know what I like. If it's a great book but completely different genre, recommend it anyway!
Thanks 🙂

Blood Meridian is considered by many to be very gruesome.
This isn’t exactly what you are looking for but I highly recommend it! It’s “Watch The Girls” by Jennifer Wolfe. It’s a Mystery/ Thriller & etc.
The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson is sci fi/mystery in creative, unique world with some gruesome fighting & gory deaths/murders.
From Blood & Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout is romantasy with very fleshed out world and a lot of blood and gruesome parts (like the guy rips out another’s guy heart with his hand). The series gets bloodier and gorier as it progresses.
One romantasy book that felt like it was almost all fighting and battle scenes was A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen. (She also wrote The Bridge Kingdom series which has a lot of deaths and gory and fighting since it’s about an assassin.)
Binti by Nnedi Okorafor is a unique, short sci fi novel (part of a series) with some alien gore.
Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh is a really powerful sci fi novel with lots of preparing to fight and fighting.
My Heart is a Chainsaw (and the sequels) by Stephen Graham Jones is pretty intense. It’s a paranormal slasher horror that takes place in the 90’s.
The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins is pretty gruesome, but very compelling.
