Hi!
For my next reading, I'd like to get introduced to a new type of book, that is, I would like to follow the story of a family over the generations, ideally in a fictional or fantastical setting. It can be divided in multiple books, I don't mind.
I tried many years ago the book called "100 Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez but I think i'm just not ready yet to read such a book. As I'm French, I also know about Zola's books but I think too realistic for what I'm looking for. And finally, I also thought about the book of George R.R. Martin about the Targaryen family (House of the Dragon) but the way it is narrated doesn't fit me. I don't want some sort of chronicle.
The idea here would be to get an invitation to think in the longer term, at the scale of decades rather than years, while getting some insights about social determinism, in a pleasant fantastical setting.
