I have only read a chapter, and I feel weird. I have watched the Kuberick movie back in 2005-9 (don’t remember exactly what year) so I don’t remember much from the movie.
Reading it out loud to my wife, I can picture most in the chapter good but I understand maybe 50-70% of what is written. It’s written in Argot, like jargon, from a juvinile first person perspective.
What opinion do you who have read this book think have?

The first time i read it i didn’t understand it either but really liked it because of that beat, it’s like a good song you don’t need to know all the lyrics to enjoy
It’s Russian integrated into English. It’s a speculative fiction novel imagining a future in which presumably WWII went differently and Russia held sway over England, although the details of this aren’t covered—it’s just implied.
