Have you ever read a series that started off pretty meh but had a great concept, and you ended up finishing it only out of spite?
That’s the Wicked Witches of Coventry for me. It’s 11 books that I bought as an omnibus, and it never achieved its potential. No character development. Sad, contrived storylines that decrease in complexity as you go. Murder mysteries where the murderer is mentioned once. New characters dropped in randomly, mentioned once, and ignored for the rest of the 11 books. An ending to the series that made no sense and ruined what little plot development there had been.
So disappointing considering the potential it started with for a cozy murder mystery series. I went in with low expectations and finished as a hate-read.
