Hi Reddit! My child must select a non-fiction book for her next school project and she’s feeling stumped on a topic which interests her, so we’re turning to you.
*Book must be minimum 150 pages with minimal pictures
*Cannot be a biography/autobiography/memoir
Her interests include arts and crafts, anime, pop music, swimming, basketball, hip hop dance, animals, amusement parks, hiking and nature, cooking, science experiments, weird but true facts, makeup, and fashion. Thanks!

Likes animals and nature? Does she find snow leopards appealing?
Try – Snow Leopard: Stories from the Roof of the World by Don Hunter. It’s an accessible read and I found it fascinating! Nice species conservation angle, in addition to the general animal/ nature interest.
The Rooftop Beekeper by Megan Paska. It’s a reference book with a combination of stories and information about how to care for bees in an urban environment. I really liked it, I think she would too. 170 pages, and some of them are recipes and ways to use honey, so it’s easier than it looks.
Go to your local public library and look in the non-fiction section. They are arranged according to subject so she can peruse whatever topic is if interest to her and find one (or many) that will fit the bill.
there are art books written with minimal pictures my favorite was one on color i read recently like the images are just color swatches.
If she likes science experiments, she might like The Disappearing Spoon
